Roan stretched, rubbing his eyes as the book he had been reading fell to the floor. The spine had golden glistening letter that read Animagi, a History, an Art. He sighed and reached down and picked it up. He flipped through the pages, looking for his bookmark. He had read nearly the entire book that day, and it wasn't enjoyable. There was so much work he had to do. This book was book one of a series, and he had just gotten to some practical things. He took out his wand and pointed at the small rock in front of him. Reading from the book, he watched as it transformed from a stone, to a stone figurine of a grizzly bear... with one paw shorter than the others. He grimaced. He couldn't even use regular transfiguration, he had to use the specific ways that the book listed in order to practice.

Andi ran up the stairs to the commons room with a huge grin. She had just been by the kitchens and her arms were laden with a large stock of butterbeer. She muttered the password to get in and looked around. "Roan! What are you doing.. with a book? I didn't know you /could/ read." Andi laughed as she walked over to him. She dumped her stash on the chair beside him and snatched the book out of him hands. "Animagi? What's this for? Not like it matters, we're having a party. I still have to go gather the food I had the elves prepare earlier." She tossed the book aside and started counting her butterbeer.

"Hey!" Roan exclaimed as Andi tossed the book away. He waved his wand and the grizzly bear turned back into a stone. "I was reading that..." He shook off the mood the slightly depressing book had put him into and grinned. "Should you even be touching butterbeer? Haven't you had enough experiences with it?" He rubbed his back in mock remembrance. "As for that matter, so have I." He snatched a butterbeer from the ones Andi was counting, and flipped it up, waving his wand as he did so. The top flashed open, and butterbeer frothed out as he barely caught the bottle in his hands. He laughed "Nearly missed that one. I've been reading all day," he said.

Andi looked over with an amused expression. "Now, I know it must be important if you've been reading all day. You of all people actually trying to put forth an effort for school... it's quite shocking really." She shook her head and continued counting. "There's enough here for everyone.. and a couple extra for myself.. I could use it.." She lighty traced her fingers over a gash in her arm that was covered by her robes. She winced as she went over the most tender part of the wound. "Well, I guess I'd best go get the food now, the party can't wait right?" Of course, it was nearly everyone's bedtime.. but since when did that matter?

Roan carefully put down his butterbeer. Any momentary cheerfulness was gone as he saw Andi wince, clearly from the wounds from yesterday. "Andi..." he said, gripping her arm softly, "Listen... I want to talk to you." He steered her toward the portrait, hoping for the privacy of a deserted classroom. He still had a lot on his mind from last night, most of it dealing with her.

Andi set down the butterbeer in her hand and wordlessly followed. She knew exactly what the topic of discussion would be and she still worried about what could happen. The thoughts running through her mind consisted mainly of how Roan was going to tell her to leave and never come back, how he didn't want her as a friend anymore, and many other negative thoughts. Her face was grim as they continued down the hall nd into an empty classroom.

"Andi," She was looking really depressed. He led her to one of the benches and sat down next to her. "Listen Andi... look I really don't know how to say this... but the Animagi thing..." He sighed. "It's gonna take years. It is gonna be a long time before I can actually help you. I'm really sorry. I want to help you so much right now, but all I can do is work on being an Animagi as hard as I can... to speed up the process..." Roan felt terrible. He hadn't realized how long it would be before he could really help Andi. "Andi?"

"Right.. I heard it takes forever... But.. you don't have to.. for me. I'm not really worth he trouble. You'd be better off attempting to do homework.. for once." Andi smiled. Even when she was down, she could still poke fun at Roan's lack of study skills. "And, I understand if you don't to be around me.. anyone that has ties with a werewolf is persecuted these days.. The ministry is making it harder and harder for people.. monsters like me. Even with people like my Uncle Harry fighting for us.. it's still a lost casue. People are afriad of us.. ans I really don't blame them." Andi sighed and rested her head on her hands. She hadn't really talked much about her situation before to anyone, but she was scared. Scared of what the Ministry could do, scared for her father, scared for her own future.

"Listen you," Roan wrapped his arms around her. "I don't want to be /away/ from you. Andi, I don't care what anyone thinks, and I don't care what anyone wants to do about people who have a few... hairier problems. And believe me, you're worth the trouble, much as you make fun of my study methods." He smiled. "Trust me, we'll take them on together. They wont stand a chance."

Andi looked away, unsure of what to say. Roan was one of the mst persistant people she knew and no matter how much she wanted him to stay out of danger, how could she hope for that? Roan was also a magnet for trouble and danger.. how else could they become such could frends? "Alright.. fine. You know what you're getting into so.. fine. If it makes you happy.. you can keep me around." She mumbled looking back up into his eyes.

Roan rested his forehead against hers. He reached down and found her hand and gave it a slight squeeze. "Andi, there's so much I want to tell you, and so much I want to say to you. And I don't know what to say, and I'm tired of running and tired of not knowing. And all I can say to you is how I feel. Andi, I love you." Roan smiled hesitatingly. He really wasn't to sure how it would go over this time. Last time... not so good, but then all Andi had been worried about was him finding out about the werewolf thing.

Andi smiled shakily. She did want to hear that from him, but she was scared as well. She wasn't sure he fully understood what he was dragging himself into, and she certainly didn't want to get hurt. She wondered, what if later when he realized how terrible things were for her kind he decided to leave..? But, for once.. Andi didn't want to worry, she wanted to just trust him and let him in. She snaked her arms around him and lightly held on. "Thank you." she whispered.

Roan could hardly stop the grinning. He felt happier than he ever had. He turned to her, cupping her face in his hands. He kissed her on the nose lightly, and whispered her name softly. "Andi..." He intertwined one hand with hers, and leaned forward slowly, their lips brushing a second before they kissed.

Andi closed her eyes and leaned in closer. For a moment, she paused, her previous worries failing to leave her mind, but she was ready to let go. She was ready to live out a normal life. She pressed her lips against his, a slight smile on her face. Finally, she was happy. She was exactly where she wanted to be.

Jackie was pacing up and down the corridors, thoughts racking up in her brain as if she were a computer calculating information. As she aimlessly wandered further down the corridor, she heard voices and stopped to listen. She recognized the voice of a longtime friend, "Andi?" she said aloud and opened the door, entering the room. Her eyebrows quickly shot up in surprise, "Roan?!" she said, mistakenly outloud. She was just shocked to see Andi and Roan...snogging! Her cheeks turned slightly pink as she squinted to see if they broke apart yet.
