Dalton watched her snake for a moment before diverting his attention elsewhere. "So, did you do anything interesting this summer?" he asked Eta mechanically, watching Brett with somewhat of a disgusted look. Ace constantly tried to get his paw out of the cage hole so he could pat the snake, and each time, Dalton pushed it back in.

Brett smiled brightly at Cygnus. She didn't know much of the details about how he was treated at the Malfoy house. Usually she was too busy complaining about her own family to hear about his troubles, so she sat blissfully ignorant.
Brett looked over at the two Slytherins. Well now that there were two of them she just had to say something. "So... Eta. Dalton. How's life on the dark side?"

"Not particularly," she said, her voice very plain and still. And it was the truth. She never left the house, people pointed and stared at her when she did and she didn't like it. Like that old crone back in Knockturn Alley. Eta cringed at the thought and found herself wishing she had a hood to pull over her head. Sometimes she resented her resemblance to her mother.
Eta turned her attention to the goody-two-shoes Gryffindor who had just spoken to her. "We're not dark, we're pure." She stressed the final word, meaning every letter as it dropped from her lips like poison. "That's more than I can say for the likes of you."
Cygnus wanted to shout at her for treating his friends poorly, but she'd either run to the guardians who loved her so much more than him, or bewitch, hex, or curse him. He wanted neither, so he resisted the urge to comment.

Brett practically snorted. Comments like that no longer made her angry or upset. "Please. You're only pure by blood standards. And the last time I checked, the pureness of one's blood only meant anything if you were a Slytherin meant to become just as heartless and mental as his or her parents."
She leaned back calmly in her seat, idly playing with her hair and keeping her eyes locked on Eta. If there was ever a moment that painted why Slytherins and Gryffindors shouldn't be in the same room, this would be one of those moments.

Dalton raised an amused eyebrow. "Dark." he muttered and smirked. "You must've checked a while back then, 'cause words going around that the good for nothing Gryffindors are just as worthless and foolish as his or her parents." He usually didn't like to waste his breath on Gryffindors, however, he was bored and the train had barely gone anywhere yet.
After Ace kept gnawing on the lock of the cage, Dalton let him out. The freakishly large cat practically bolted out of the wired enclosement, his head slamming into the front of Eta's legs.

Eta stiffened. Cygnus bit his lip and glanced fearfully at Brett. It bothered him when people spoke ill of his parents, but not as much as it did Eta.
Cygnus grew increasingly afraid the longer Eta remained still. Slowly, very slowly, he watched as Saiph slid slowly from her neck and onto the floor and then wraped himself around Brett's mouth quickly after, in a tight, almost chokehold. Eta stood ever so slowly and drew her wand. Another thing that worried Cygnus was that his sister was very much a master at charms.
"Cruci-ARRRGH!!!" She was unable to finish the curse as Cygnus lunged at her and pinned her down. She grabbed her wand. "Petrificus totalus!" And instantly, Cygnus became little more than a plywood board.
"I'm going to make you wish you hadn't said that," and with that, she raised her wand again. She didn't care how unforgiveable the curses were. Anyone who was foolish enough to say a word deserved what was coming to them.

Dalton was fingering his wand and just watched for right now. He was unphased by Eta's reaction and was sort of expecting it. They had been in the same house and classes for years now, and it was obvious that anyone who spoke about her parents were going to get it. His eyes never left Brett and he just sat there to see what would happen next. He would only step in if he had to.

Brett's eyes furrowed as the snake wrapped around her mouth and her eyes widened when Eta started saying the unforgivable curse. She reached for her wand, and stood up as Eta stunned Cygnus, and raised her wand simultaneously as Eta raised hers again. The snake made it harder to concentrate, but last year she passed her NEWTS with her unspoken spells.
'Expelliarmus' she thought. The result had the intended effects, and she pointed her wand at Cygnus, reversing the petrificus spell. Then she pointed her wand at Saiph, she hadn't yet thought of a spell, but Eta needn't know that.

Now she didn't need magic. Eta shoved Brett against the door, gripping her throat and keeping the point of her wand aimed between the girl's eyes. "Stupefy!" she said after a few seconds of thought, then with a crack, she aparated and was nowhere to be seen. Along with her, she had managed to successfully grab for Saiph and Reigel before leaving the compartment.
Cygnus removed the charm and helped her sit down. "She could've killed you! What the bloody hell were you thinking?!" His chest heaved. "You're lucky she left, you don't know what she's done to the elves around the house this past summer!" Cygnus was filled with a combination of feeling; anger, frustration, worry, relief and everything similar. He gave her an experimental shake. "Don't try that again, consider this a warning because if you do it again, I don't think mercy will be one of you options."

"Tony quite your whinning,"Gwyneth scolded lightly. She settled down in the seat opposite him, setting her owl's cage down beside her. "Well maybe Dad will send Spazz to me in the post..."Tony mumbled frowning. Gwyneth sighed."Hasn't that lizard died by now?" "No!" "The owl will eat her if youir dad sends her in the post." "YOu think?" "I know."She said nodding sagely and pulling a book out of her bag, curling up and opening it.

Dalton grabbed Ace who constantly tried to run after the snake, who disappeared along with Eta. Great. Now I'm stuck with these two losers.... he thought to himself. "Well she did deserve it..." he muttered, throwing a scowl over at them. Dalton got up and left, dragging his cat and his things behind him. "Try not to die before we get to Hogwarts." he said blankly and left.
Dalton walked down the hall, sighing as he looked into all of the full compartments. He found one occupied with Jessica and Anthony and slipped inside. "Hey." he said and dropped Ace. The cat shook his head after landing and jumped onto the seat next to them.

Brett grunted as she hit the door and her grip loosened on her wand. She still kept her frustrated glare on Eta though, she wouldn't show fear. She tried to open the door while Eta had her throat, and she would've tried kicking her too if she hadn't been stupefied first.
She wouldn't look at Cygnus as her helped her sit down. She looked disgustedly at the spot Eta had just been. Finally, Brett turned when he shook her. "So that was mercy, huh? Come on Cygnus, was I just supposed sit quietly like a good little girl and let her walk all over us?" 'Atleast I didn't apparate like a coward...' she thought to herself.

Laryn's summer was projected in her mind like her head was her own personal movie theatre. She was so distracted that she practically missed Gwyneth and Tony's compartment. She backtracked and stuck her head in. "Hey! Mind if I sit with you guys?"

"Huh?No of course not,"Gwyneth said smiling brightly. She stood up and put her owl up with the bagage to make room. "Come on in Laryn,"She said cheerfully sitting back down. Tony looked up from a peice of parchement he was writing on.He smiled weakly and nodded to Laryn before looking back down at the paper."Hey Laryn,Just trying to finish this paper..." "You do know that the summer assignements were ment for the summer don't you?"Gwyneth mused smirking. Tony looked up and glowered."Its none of your buinsness,"He snapped.

"Yes, mum. Okay, mum. BYE!" Noemi Davies, hugged her mother goodbye reluctantly. She rolled her eyes and stepped onto the train, tucking a lock of blonde hair behind her ear. She was already dressed in her Ravenclaw robes, and she scowled when she looked around the train. Inferior intelligence... She scoffed under her breath and pulled her trunk into an empty compartment. Noemi collapsed onto the seat with a satisfied smile and pulled out Hogwarts: A History to read. Even though she had read it a million times, it never got old. --- "G'bye, dad! Love ya!" Aidan Weasley hugged his dad one last time. "I'll write every week!" He chuckled and boarded the train, waving out the window to George. He was clad in a blue tee-shirt and plain baggy jeans. Dragging his trunk behind him, he looked around. He walked up the aisle, and, spotting Andi in a compartment. He opened the door, but then he saw that she was with a boy. "Oh...sorry." The tips of his ears went pink and he looked down. "Was I disrupting something?" --- Cydney clambered onto the train, a fake smile on her face. She was trying to forget the incident with Anthony, and how she had found her purse empty a few hours later. Of course, she had called up daddy immediately, and after pouting, crocodile tears, and whining, he had given her even more money than before to exchange. She happily accepted it, and the driver had taken her to King's Cross. She walked around, looking for an empty compartment. "No such luck..." She muttered dejectedly. She opened a compartment that had a girl who she knew was a fellow Gryffindor 7th year, Brett. "Hello." She smiled, ignoring everyone else in the compartment.

Laryn laughed at the two as she put her baggage and her own owl up top and took a seat. "What are we to do with him Gwyneth?"
It was good to be a Ravenclaw. Summer homework was always done long before the new year started. Her sister thought that she was crazy, but never complained when they had the rest of the summer to do whatever.
