Lying in the grass

It was a nice enough day for the season, not too hot and not too cold. The perfect weather for laying in the grass and drifting off into a half-sleep to avoid one's school work. Which was precisely what Tony Boot had decided to do.
Laying down on a grassy knoll, he had a clear view of the lake and after a moment of watching other students mill around, (probably to avoid homework as well), he had decided to catch up on a bit of rest.
Eyes closed, figure stretched out over the grass and hands behind his head, Tony didn't feel like getting up anytime soon.

Olina Zariel Willowstep. That was her name ,and she believed that no one could have a worse name than that. It sounded so regal, so...so.... Un-Oz-like. That's what she prefered. Oz. Short, simple, easy. Not Lina, not Oli, not anything you'd think of. Oz. It was certainly a different name, very suited for her.
During her Free Period, she was still working, just not on school stuff. You see, she was a competitive gymnast during summer months at home, away from the school. And she couldn't risk getting out of shape or out of practice during the months she was at Hogwarts, so she practiced at least once a day. And that's what she was doing now. Mostly hand-springs and other more complicated tricks, not cartwheels. Too simple. She came off of one of her routines and saw a fellow Gryffindor laying in the grass. Tony...Tony....Tony Boot, that was his name. Feeling friendly, she strode over, many of the boys out in the yard watched her move, both Gryffindor and not. She was in tight-fitting sweats and a tank top, with a sweat band round her head. She sat down next to Tony and greeted him: "Hello! Your name's Tony, right?" she said, her blond pigtails splaying themselves about her shoulders.

Tony opened one lazy eye to stare up at whoever was adressing him. It shot closed, unused to the current lighting. With a grunt he sat upright, rubbing his eyes wearily and then turning to look at the present company. He took one look at Olina 'Oz' Willowstep and then began to look around to see who she was adressing. Obviously deciding it was him, (He couldn't think of any other Gryffindor with his name), he gave her a nod, deciding it best to avoid eye contact for fear of turning bright red.
"Yes," He said shortly, smiling slightly. He didn't want to seem unfriendly, but he was more than a little confused.

Oz smiled. This, of course, caused a few grumbles from the idiotic spectators milling about, but they were quickly silenced by an angry stare from Oz herself. "So, how was your summer? Did you have any fun?" she asked, trying to make light conversation. Most of the people she knew were people who admired her, fans, not actual friends. She wanted friends, and the best place to start was her own house, right?

Tony ran a hand through his messy hair before settling back in the grass, deciding to use the sky as an excuse to look away.
"I went to France with a family friend, it was an okay trip I suppose. Its better than staying home and doing nothing though, right?"
He spared Oz a smile and a quick glance, already feeling his face turning red and his mouth drying. Girls were... Not his specialty. Besides Gwyneth, (Who he didn't consider a 'girl' anyway), he got tounge tied and usually did something stupid every time her talked to a female.
"How was your summer... Oz?"

[Batz]

She grinned again, the smile lighting up her features. Mostly people called her Olina or tried to call her Lina or Oli or something. "It was fun. My dad took me to Japan. We saw lots of stuff, like Tokyo Tower and this Godzilla display. But I could barely understand what they said most of the time, but they tried to talk to me in English." she twirled the end of her pigtail with her finger, this was the first time she'd talked to a guy who hadn't gone gaga within the time between "Hello" and "How was your summer?".

"Sounds alot more intresting then my trip. I had to keep my friend from murdering her cousin with a blundger bat. Other than that I got to go to Paris for a little while and wander around," He muttered with a shrug.
"The sights were really nice. Paris is a pretty place."

[Batz]

Oz laughed. "Yea, I've heard that. That's where I wanted to go, but I had a gymnastics competition in Japan, and it was high time for a vacation anyway. Better than no vacation at all, I guess. So, are you happy to be back at Hogwarts this year?" she asked, still twirling her hair. It was such a common thing for a girl to do, no one noticed, but she always did it when she was nervous. She supposed she was nervous right now because of how she usually didn't get this far into a conversation with someone without getting upset because they only wanted to talk about stupid things like how she does her hair and other things. Sometimes she hated being pretty.

[Justly]

"Yeah, Hogwarts is the same as being home to me. And besides, theres just something about Hogwarts that makes it so appealing," He sighed, shifting slightly.
"Do you ever get the feeling that it's almost too pretty around here? Hogwarts, though it might seem a little stupid, seems so untouched and pure. The homework, on the other hand, is just tiring. So what about you Oz?"

[Batz]

Oz looked around and nodded. "Yea, I guess it does. It always looks the same, even in the pistures my father showed me from when he went to Hogwarts. Kind of like... A museum exhibit." she said, waving her hand to include the entire area. "But the homework." she heaved a sigh. "There's so much of it, I don't know how they expect us to have lives- But yea, its great to be back. I'm gonna miss it next year..."

[Justly]

He sighed, "Maybe the homework id to prevent our social lives until we graduate... Makes more sense than my original slave labor theories..."
He looked confused for a moment before nodding.
"Ah that's right. Your going to be graduating. What will you do next? After your finished with school I mean."

[Batz]

"I don't know, really. Before I hit eleven, I wanted to compete in gymnastics professionally, and I still kind of do, but now that I've been doing witchcraft so many years, I want to do something with that." she said, tapping her chin with a finger. To be honest, she hadn't really thought about it. Her mother, also a gymnastics star, said she had so much potential as a gymnast. Buut her father, a wizard, said she had a lot of potential as a witch too. She didn't want to disappoint either of them, but how could she merge both of her dreams into one?

[Justly]

"Either way you'll probably be good at it," Tony said with a shrug. Very suddenly he rolled up into a sit and then jumped up onto his feet. Stretching, and yawning aswell, he gave her a quick look, face already begining to heat up. Compliments were not his thing either.
"I'm sure theres a way you can combine both, atleast... It can't be impossible can it? It isn't really my place to comment though." He said with a shrug, shoving his hands into his pockets and staring out towards the lake.

She smiled. "I don't mind. I just wish my parents would agree on something. It makes it hard to choose, y'know? I don't wanna disappoint either of them." she said, laying back in the grass. "As for combining them, I'm looking." She shut her eyes and tilted her face towards the sun. It felt good, the rays shimmering down on her.

Tony chuckled, "Good luck with that one. See you around Oz?"
He looked down at her, deciding to take the chance of running into something, tripping, sounding like an idiot, ect. His face was red and he hoped he could pass it off as the heat.
