Alex Wood was seated out by the lake watching the going ons of the sea creatures. The Giant Squid was surfacing every now and again to give Alex a friendly wave. Alex was often found out by the lake thinking. It was one place where people would leave him alone. Sometimes he just needed to get away from the school's hectic life and just think. Now, he was thinking about the train ride and how horrible things could have turned out. He often felt obligated to protect Andi since she didn't have any older siblings, and it was a hard task to accept. She was a troublemaker at heart and it was hard to break her of her habits. He sighed and tossed a rock into the lake, letting it skip a few times before summoning it back with his wand.

Kendall had been sitting near the window of the common rooms when she spotted Alex out by the lake. She was suppose to go talk to McGonagall in ten minutes, but she could wait. After grabbing two muffins, Kendall went down to the lake. It was a nice morning to be out, and she was glad it was Saturday and not a school day. "You look like you need a muffin. Why such the long face?" she said, coming up from behind him and sitting down. She handed him the chocolate chip muffin and started to peel off the paper from her own.

Alex looked over at Kendall. "Thanks, I was a bit hungry." Alex smiled. "Just thinking about yesterday and all the stuff that happened on the train." He shrugged. He peeled the paper off his muffin and bit into it. "Mm, muffins are good. Those house elves are great."

"Mmhmm, they are wonderful cooks." she said after taking a bite of her own. "So you had an eventful train ride?" she replied to his other comment, looking out at the lake and then back to him. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah, just not sure what to do about Andi. She can't keep herself out of trouble. I feel kind of responsible for her sometimes, she doesn't really have anyone to look out for her. She doesn't have any siblings or anything.." Alex sighed. "I sometimes wish she had someone like that."

Kendall nodded, thinking about her own family. It would be hard to be in Andi's situation. Her own family was close with the Lupins, and she loved hanging out with Andi. "I wish she did too, it's tough when you don't have a shoulder to lean on. But you're doing great. And I'd love to help out if you guys are in a tight spot." she replied, kicking some pebbles loose from the dirt by her toe.

"Thanks. If you could somehow get her to stop breaking rules and become a perfect little child I would be eternally grateful. She causes a lot of stress for her dad, you can tell. He's tired of running arond cleaning up her mistakes and getting her out of trouble." Alex shook his head. "I feel bad for him sometimes. He's tried so hard to make sure she turns out good. That's why I help so much."

She just nodded, feeling that right now wouldn't be the best moment to tell him that she wouldn't be the best person to get her out of trouble. "Remus is a good person, and father. My dad hates to see him stressed out too. Maybe if we can keep her away from that Roan kid, she may be able to tone down a bit..." said Kendall, finishing up her muffin.

"Yeah, he's certainly a bad influence. We should try to find her someone else to spend her time with. There aren't any people I can think of really..." Alex shrugged. "Anything I can do to help I will."

Kendall nodded, thinking for a moment. "I can't really think of anyone either. And it would be rather hard to get Roan away from her, he seems attached." she replied, drawing her knees up to her chest and resting her chin on them. "So I haven't really seen you since last year, how was your summer?"

"Yeah, he does. I doubt Andi thinks of him like that though, but who knows?" Alex smiled. "Well, it was pretty much the same as every summer. I practiced Quidditch every day. I got to practice with the Puddlemere reserve team a lot of the summer, their Keeper was out with some injuries. I got a lot better, the team should do good this year. How about you? Anything interesting happen in the life of the hunted? Any more problems with stalkers?" Alex grinned. The Potters were followed pretty much everywhere they went.

Kendall laughed and shook her head. "Not really...well there was that one Creevy my dad told me about. You were there right? I think that one was the only one that was pretty siked." she replied. "Oh, and thats great about Quidditch. We're really going to be a strong competitor this year."

"Yeah, they've always been a strange bunch. Even back when your dad was in Hogwarts they were like that. I guess it just runs in the family." Alex laughed. He ran his fingers through his hair. "Yeah, we've got a pretty good team, and an amazing captain. or so I've heard. Our seeker isn't that bad either."

She grinned and gave a small shrug. "I dunno. The captain could use some work..." she said, elbowing him. "Isn't that bad, eh? Hmm..." Kendall smiled and moved closer to the water. "My friend taught me a trick over the summer, and I figured it was a good way to practice catching a fast oject." She watched a small fish swimming in the shallows of the water and plunged her hand into the water, catching the slippery scales inbetween her fingers. Kendall held it up, "Its cute..." she said and then tossed it at him.

Alex caught the fish with a disgusted look on his face. "You know I hate seafood. Fish are disgusting." He tossed the fish back into the water and wiped his hands off in the grass. "That is a pretty cool trick though. You've gotten better I'm guessing. The captain is pretty much perfect, he's got talent for sure. He's possibly the best keeper ever to set foot in Hogwarts and he's got devilishly good looks."
