Alex looked back out to the lake and saw Kendall struggling with something that looked oddly like a tentacle. Of course.. I told her he was out to get us. Alex shook his head at threw off his robes, strippingdown to only his shorts. He ran over and dove into the lake his powerful strokes carrying him easily over to Kendall. He ripped the tentacle off of her leg and pulled her away from it. "You swim back, I'll take care of this." He panted pulling out his wand.

Kendall dropped the rock and gave a quizzical look to Alex. "Wha-?" she started but just decided to get away from the thing. She spat some water out of her mouth and swam to shallower waters. When she was able to stand, she started to run to retrieve her wand and then returned to the water. She spotted Alex and the squid and swam back over. "Don't hurt it. Lets just leave before it wraps around us!" she said quickly.

Alex nodded. "You're right, we should just leave it be, no matter how badly I want to hurt it." He swam quickly back to shore making sure Kendall was still nearby. "That was interesting to say the least. I'm all wet and fishy now, eww." He shuddered in disgust and used his robes to wipe himself off.

Kendall pointed her wand at Alex and muttered something that made him and his clothes dry and fresh. She did the same to herself and looked to Alex. "Well I guess you can say 'I told you so'."

"Thanks, that feels a lot better." Alex mumbled appreciatively. "I could if I wanted to, but I'm too nice for that. The squid is crazy..." Alex laughed.

Kendall forced a smile and nodded. "Yeah..." She wasn't in the mood for joking around anymore. For one, the squid freaked her out. And she felt like an idiot. Plus, she could've really gotten her or Alex hurt out there. "I was uh, suppose to meet McGonagall like an hour ago...so I better get going." she said, glancing at her watch that dangled from her wrist. Kendall slipped her shoes back on and then gave him a small wave. "I'll see you in the common room later..."

Alex smiled weakly, noticing her falling mood. " Good luck. Don't get into too much trouble, we have Quidditch practice soon. I'll get someone to tell you the times when I schedule them." He waved her off and settled back down next to the tree.
