Starla was wandering through the halls, her thoughts muddled. She had a lot on her mind. She'd just gotten a letter from her mother informing her that she wasn't going to be home for winter break. So, Starla was stuck either with a family friend, usually the Potter's, or at school alone. She'd been debating with herself about which she would prefer. Of course, it was nice to be around other people during the holiday's, but she also loved being at school. Starla furrowed her brow and continued pacing through the school.

Aiden was wondering what to do with his winter holiday. He could either stay at Hogwarts and be with the girls staying here, or he could go back to Ireland with his family and hit up some girls there. For Aiden, this was going to be difficult. While looking at the floor, deep in thought, Aiden walked into somebody. "Oh man, I'm so sorry," he said, looking up.

"Oh! Sorry.. it was my fault. I wasn't paying attention." Starla jabbered as she straightened herself. "Oh." She gasped as she looked up at Aiden. It wasn't often that she stumbled into a good looking guy, and when she did they usually ran away from her. It's not as if she isn't pretty, she's just quirky. She stepped back, allowing him ample space to run after he realized who it was.

"You're.... Starla, right?" Aiden asked. She was a really pretty girl. He knew she had her quirks, he had heard about her from friends. But it wouldn't hurt to get to know her a bit. "I was thinking about winter holiday. I'm not sure whether to stay here or go home to Ireland."

"Yeah, and you're... Aiden?" She asked. He looked familiar, but she wasn't certain about his name. She was a bit surprised that he wasn't already half-way down the hall, but she wouldn't complain. "Oh, I'm probably going to stay here.. My mom isn't going to be home. So, I'd have to stay with a family friend.." Starla was a pretty open person, and didn't have a problem spilling her heart to whomever she was talking to.

"Yeah. I think I might stay here though," he smiled, leaning against a wall. "Now that I might've found something to stay for..." He winked. "Although. Some of the kids at this school are really annoying. Like. They want you to fix something. When it was fine before hand."

Starla almost asked what he was talking about, but caught herself when she realized. Her eyes widened in surprise, no guy had ever made a pass at her... ever. For the first few years of school, she hadn't been very pretty and now that she'd matured she was very pretty. Only problem was, her oddities were more well known. "Well, I don't think anyone would complain to your presence here." I know I wouldn't.

Aiden smiled. He was used to getting girls. But he had never really dated a Ravenclaw. Don't get him wrong, he's done things with Ravenclaws, but all of his serious relationships have been with Gryffindors or fellow Hufflepuffs. This girl was really pretty, but there was something... odd about her, and he was going to have to stick around to see if he liked it or not.

Starla returned the smile, a bit nervously. She'd never really been around guys, especially not gorgeous guys, so she wasn't really sure what to say. She scuffed her feet on the floor and diverted her eyes away from him. "So, you have family over in Ireland? I went there once, nice place." And not just because of the guys.

"Oh yeah, totally beautiful," Aiden grinned, "The landscape's amazing." And so are the girls, he thought, but chose not to say that aloud. "Yeah, most of my family lives there. I have some cousins in Scotland, but almost all of my family lives in Ireland. I kind of miss them all while I'm at school, but I see them again." He smiled, he really did love his family.

"Yeah, I miss my mom alot. But, she'd probably be at work anyways.. so here's better than being alone at home." Starla sighed. She loved Hogwarts more than any other place, it felt more like home than her own house did. It wasn't that she had more friends, because she didn't really have many friends here either, it was more just the overall feeling of the place. The only time her house felt warm like this, was on the few Christmas holidays her mother was off and cooking dinner.

Aiden looked into her blue eyes. He noticed that they were really pretty. "That must suck, not seeing your mom even when you're home. What about your dad?" He asked, leaning against the wall.

Starla sighed, she figured it would eventually get brought up by someone. "It does suck.." She shifted a bit uncomfortably before answering. "He died.. before I was born. I never knew him." She closed her eyes to hold back her tears. She almost always cried when she thought about it. She just knew, if he hadn't been killed herl ife would be so much different.

"Oh Merlin, I'm sorry, I really am," Aiden saw the tears fighting in her eyes and wrapped his arms around her. "I'm so sorry," He kept repeating. He hated to see anyone sad. Especially when he caused it.

"It's okay.. At least they didn't kill my mom." Starla muttered. She always wondered why they hadn't. The Malfoy's didn't strike her as merciful in the least. She rested her forehead on Aiden's shoulder and let her tears fall. She wasn't used to crying in front of people, usually she held it all in so no one knew. But,Aiden was different... he seemed so kind.
