Name:Thayne Leonidus Thorne. [[Call him Thayne or Leo]]
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Year: 6th
House: Slytherin
Photograph:
Played By: Gaspard Ulliel
Personality:
Thayne is an unusual Slytherin. While you can tell why he is in the house, there are many times when you wonder how he could possibly be a Slytherin. He was put in the house back when he was young and angry. He'd had a rough childhood and he wanted nothing more than to be with other people like him. The people that weren't going to step down and be treated badly. But, he was young and naive. Now, he's stuck in a house with people that he has little in common with.
Yes, Thayne does have Slytherin qualities. His one goal in life is to be successful. He is very ambitious and would do almost anything to get where he wants. He aspires to finally be taken siriusly by his father and be seen as worthy of his father. He was always in his brothers shadow. Always the unimportant son. Someday, that was going to change. Thayne was never one to be second best. Everything Thayne does, he does to impress his father.
Thayne is also very cunning and he could talk his way out of anything. He rarely causes trouble, but when he does he's never punished for it. He is a very eloquent speaker, even when he is just talking amongst friends. Thayne has few friends though, as he doesn't fit in well with his housemates. He mostly keeps to himself, unless he or they need something. He's not ashamed to admit that he uses people as he sees fit, as long as it's in his benefit.
Thayne is an absolute gentleman, despite all his flaws. He knows how to treat women and he does it right. He treats them with the utmost respect and never crosses any lines they aren't willing to cross. He is very romantic and often surprises his girl with something over the top. When Thayne is with someone he finds special, he would do anything to make them happy.
Thayne is also very critical of inter-house rivalries. He finds it useless to judge someone by what house they're in. He feels that there is more to a person than just their house label. People may be put into a certain house, but that doesn't mean that that's all there is. He likes to get to know people before he judges them. Yes, Thayne is sometimes hypocritical and will treat Gryffindors with a bit more coolness than deserved, but he still puts forth the effort to be open to talking with anyone.
History:
The circumstances surrounding the birth of Thayne and his brother are quite odd. They were both born on the same day, in the same place and they have the same father. The only difference was their mother. Their father was playing two women at the same time. Sadly, he was rich enough to get away with it, no press attention or anything. He was a wealthy businessman, producing a line of Quidditch shops. Eventually their father settled down with Zar's birth mother Lauren. Because of this choice, Zar was always the favorite child. Thayne rarely got to see his birth mother, as she was scorned by his father.
Thayne was always the lesser loved child and he resented it. He always wondered why his "mother" never paid attention to him, why she just shunted him to the side. Zar, his "twin" brother, would always try to get his mother to be nicer to Thayne, but even his influence couldn't change things. Their mother took all of her anger about the other woman in their father's life out on Thayne.
Thayne hated being around the house as a child, and at the young age of five he was already out on his own. He would walk around the neighborhood, often alone. Sometimes Zar would follow him, but he would push Zar down and run down one of the alleyways. He knew the city better than most of the people there by the time he was about six.
When he turned seven, he began hanging out with the older boys. Many of them were into drugs or alcohol and all of them were into smoking. Thayne developed an addiction to nicotine and would do things for the older boys so that he could keep hanging around. They would make him do their dirty work, or take the fall for whatever they did themselves. Thayne would often get in trouble with his parents for his actions, but he would always find a way to get out of the house.
By the age of ten, Thayne started to show magical ability. He could now do things for the others, but there would be evidence that they had done it. He didn't know where the evidence came from, but he liked it. For once, he was in a situation of power. Until they started to abuse him that is. The other boys would fling him against walls and cause him many injuries. His parents, of course, turned a blind eye. Zar on the other hand, would often come to Thayne's aid. Thayne still blew him off.
At age eleven, Thayne and his brother both recieved their letters to Hogwarts. Both were ecstatic, but for different reasons. Thayne was just glad to get away from his family. He was bitter when he got there, and the sorting hat put him in Slytherin. At first, he was happy. He was with people like him, people that hated the world. But, this didn't last long. By second year, Thayne realized that this wasn't what he wanted. He wanted to change and it was all because of Evangeline.
He'd never been into girls, but the first time he saw her, he knew that he was in love. He was convinced that she would hate him though, most Hufflepuff's did and all because he was a Slytherin. After that, Thayne started to change. He became the guy he is today and more people like him for it. He will always have a special place in his heart for Evangeline because it was all thanks to her.
