The Hogwarts Express: going to school

[Andi Lupin]

Alex helped Roan drag Andi into a compartment a few doors down. They got a few strange looks as they locked the door behind them. They propped her up into a chair and sat on either side of her. "That was close." he panted. He usually disapproved of such behavior, but for Andi he'd let it slide. Andi was sitting there talking to herself incoherently, barely registering the fact that she had barely avoided trouble, or the fact that it was still on it's way.

Charlie stood up and stood at the door, watching everything that was happening with the older students and the man. "This is so exciting!" He said to Thomas, although he was still looking out the door. Thomas had retired to the window.

"We should follow them! Come on, it'll be fun! It's something Harry Potter would do!" Charlie faced Thomas now, waiting expectantly for him to get up. Slowly but surely, he did, but he wasn't quite sure they should be doing this. He didn't really want to get into any more trouble with older students. But they didn't look like Slytherin so he would take his chances.

The two of them left the compartment and followed Remus.

Yup... He's definetly stuck on it still. Brett though. Now she needed to cheer him up or something. She couldn't have him all mopey.

Merrily she said, "Come on Cygnus! Cheer up! Or I'll make you have a drink during the party!" From past experiences she knew Cygnus wasn't one for drinking, or joining in on anything Brett decided to do. She wasn't really threatening though, just joking around. That's what she always needed when she was down. Just someone to joke around with and take her mind off of everything.

Roan was getting nervous. "Proffesor Lupin is going to find us any moment now. We need a plan or something... got any ideas?" he asked. Him getting in trouble is one thing, but he woulnd't want to get Andi in trouble...

Remus walked down the train, searching all the compartments for Roan, Andi, and Alex. Remus was wondering if they had done something idiotic... as usual. If it was anything like the dungbomb on the train incident last year... He stopped thinking, and felt two thumps behind him as the first years from the other compartment bumped into him. He turned around and knelt down. "What are you two doing here?" he asked exaserated. He usually wasn't one to get irritated, but he was getting mad at Andi.

"Do I not look happy enough for you?" He forced a smile, at least it looked sincere...

"I'm surrounded by my friends and away from my negligent guardians, really, I'm great," he was also starting to feel that sinking, tired feeling he always got on the train. He looked at his bag beside him and took out a piece of parchment and a self-inking quill and began to write.

I write to you from the train. It would seem this is going to be a very exciting year. Some of the kids in my house have already broken out the firewhiskey, but you needn't worry about me. I do miss you very much and I wish I could've taken you with me. I always thought you might like it better in the kitchens here.

While this year seems promising, I can't help but worry about Eta. She seemed a bit more reclusive today than usual. And then...well...I won't go into detail, but if I hadn't stopped her, she may very well have been sbnatched up and taken to Azkaban.

I promise to write again this weekend and every weekend still to come.

He read it over. This would certainly brighten the house elf's day. Now he justhad to wait until after the feast to send it.

"Do you think they went into that one down there?" Charlie asked Thomas, who shrugged. He didn't really see where they went anyway. Neither of them noticed when he stopped. Thomas was too busy thinking about how he'd much rather be back in that empty compartment, and Charlie was too busy peering into each individual compartment and rushing back to catch up.

"We came to help you!" Charlie said proudly when the man asked them what they were doing. Thomas nodded in half agreement.

Brett tilted her head at Cygnus, not believing him for one second. Especially when he immediately shifted to writing a letter to Seric. She met Cydney's eyes with a worried look. Cydney was probably totally confused, having missed what had happened between Brett and Eta earlier. She sat silently watching Cygnus write his letter, with her back against the window and her legs up on the seat between herself and Cygnus. "Come on Cyg... Loosen up a little. You need to have some fun. You are in Gryffindor. That means somewhere in you you have the skill to do some major fun."

Dalton merely shrugged, "My summer was the usual." he replied and looked around for Ace. When he didn't see him, he figured he must still be chasing Eta's snake. "So your dad is pretty uptight huh? My father's just the opposite. He sends me on these stupid errands for him to meet some creepy guys and exchange things. I want a better job, more dangerous. Giiving someone a note or something is getting old." he said, twirling his wand between his fingers absent-mindedly.

Jackie was walking down the hall and saw Remus Lupin up ahead. As she was about to throw him a grin, she caught the agitated look on his face and gave a quizzical look. She was about to turn into her compartment when the one across from her's was now occupied, but it wasn't before. She took a closer look and saw a drunk Andi, Roan and Alex. After taking another look at Lupin and then back at Andi, she put two and two together and grimaced. Well this can't go well.... she thought to herself. Jackie didn't want to see one of her good friends getting into trouble by her dad already, so she made a beeline fore the professor. "Hey Professor Lupin! I'm so glad you're the D.A.D.A teacher! I love your classes, they teach me so much. Did you know that last year I got an O for my O.W.L.S. in D.A.D.A?" she rambled, a smile plastered on her face the whole time.

Gwyneth looked up as Milo entered and nodded."Sure,come on in."
"Thank god."Tony said sighing in relief.
Gwyneth rolled her eyes."Where was I?...Oh yeah,I don't acctually know his name bu-"
"Why don't we change the subject?"Tony asked irratably.
"Why?"
"Becuase you are going to drive me insane.Would you like to remind me why I put up with you?"
"I don't acctually know either so your stuck."She replied with an airy shrug.

Milo gave Tony a reassuring smile, "Now there's two of us. So if any of them try to attack with their girl-ishness, we can take them." he joked and took a seat next to Laryn. "How was your guys' summer?" he asked, glad to be back with his friends. He swept away the blonde piece of hair that dropped in front of his eye and took a quick glance over at the window. The green hills seemed to roll by as the train sped alongside them.

[Andi Lupin]

"Yeah, daddy is so protective. He never lets me do anything. He almost didn't let become a.. well you know." She said motioning toward her arm. "I had to beg and plead for days just to get him to consider it. It has it's perks though. Being daddy's little girl I get anything I want."

Noemi listened to them speak, holding back laughter. She pushed her hair away from her face and played with the hem of her tie.

Aidan sighed, following after Alex, Roan, and Andi. Well, someone's got to be the adult here. He thought reluctantly. "C'mon, let's go to the front." He said. "If you don't want Remus to find her. Or, we could go sit with Ravenclaws."

Cydney raised an eyebrow, watching Brett and this Cygnus boy. She watched Brett give her a worried look. 'What's going on?' She mouthed, hoping the two of them were okay.

Dalton gave her a half smile and then glanced at his own arm. The mark sat there dark on his rather pale arm. "My dad made me get it as soon as he could. My mother hated him for it afterwards, but now she's changed her ways and doesn't care." he replied. He used to be somewhat soft when it came to his mother, but now its over him. If his mom stopped paying attention to him and decided that he was already a dead man, it didn't bother him anymore. Dalton knew she was just trying to prepare herself, or harden herself, so that when he did get hurt in the death eater world, it wouldn't affect her much.

Brett took a piece of paper from her pocket and dug for a quill in her bag, quickly scribbling out what was previously on the paper and writing "Family troubles, I got in a spat with his sister." She wasn't one for mouthing things. There was too much room for misinterpretation.

She placed the paper in her hat, tossed it over to Cydney, and took to playing with her wand.

Cydney took the hat, reading the note. Oh...okay. I get it. She nodded to Brett, understanding. "Ah..." She ran a hand through her dark curls.

Brett gave her a half smile and glanced at Cygnus. She still was not satisfied with his so-called happiness and now the compartment was just too quiet. "Hey Cydney, the first one to make Cygnus laugh gets the first drink!"

She nudged Cygnus with her foot, "and no fake laughter. We can tell the difference." She nodded seriously and giggled.

"Milo, are you implying that two boys can take on the three ravenclaw girls? I think you're underestimating us. Our girlishness and above average intelligence and wit can never be evenly matched." Laryn said matter-of-factly. "Don't you agree Noemi?"
