It was Professor Erika Dulcedo's first year teaching at Hogwarts. She had spent her last two years teaching at Beauxbatons Academy, and transfered over with the lost of the last Charms teacher. She was nervous, but excited to meet her new students. She had decided on starting the year with Patronus charms. Everyone loved practicing them and she wanted to make a good first impression. She paced along the wall waiting for her students to arrive so her pre-class jitters would leave. Starla bounded to class, eager to meet the new Charms teacher. She was hoping to get there first so she could have a chance to chat with the teacher. What's her name again? Oh, Professor Dulcedo! She looks.. well different for a teacher, but she must be good if they let her come here. Starla srugged and opened the door to the class.

Roan walked into class, his mind on whether or not this teacher would be good for pranking and everything else. He glanced around the room looking for the teacher. The only ones there was Starla, and... He immediatly perked up, and nearly bounded to the front of the room to sit right in front of the nice, young, and definitly attractive new teacher. "Hey Professor... errr." He tried to remember what her name was. Failing that, he just grinned at her.

"Hello, Roan isn't it? I'm Professor dulcedo, or you could call me Erika. Glad to see you're eager to start class, charms is an interesting subject. I think you'll especially love what we're doing today." She had a welcoming smile on her face as her students started to arrive. "Miss Lovegood, pleasure to have you." Andi ambled into class, later than usual, arriving just as the bell rang. She took a seat next to Roan and looked up at the teacher. "Nice to see you again professor. Adjusting well to Hogwarts I hope." She had met Professor Dulcedo at the staff meeting a few weeks ago with her father.

Jackie stepped through the door as the bell rang and quickly took a seat next to Andi, settting her bag by her feet. "Hey guys." she said with a smile to Roan and Andi. "Hi Professor Dulcedo!" she said with a grin. Jackie hadn't met her yet, but she was in an extra hyper mood today.

Roan glanced briefly as his two friends and gave a mumbled "Hey," before reverting his gaze back to the new teacher. "So, what are we going to be learning today?" He asked eagerly. This class was definitly going to be fun. The though briefly crossed his mind that just because she was hot didn't mean she wouldn't give loads of work. It troubled him, but only for a nano second.

"Hello Jackie. Welcome, welcome. Alright, it looks like just about everyone is here so we'll go ahead and start. Today, we'll be working with the Patronus charm. it's pretty easy when you get the hang of it, and it's always fun to see what shape everyone's charm will take." Professor Dulcedo sat down on her desk at the front of the class. Okay, hopefully last year you got a brief overview of the spell and know what it does. Go aheead and flip to page 333 in your books and read up on it. You have five minutes."
"Hey Jackie!" Andi grinned over at her friend. She looked critically over at Roan. "Pathetic isn't it? She's a teacher." She whispered to Jackie. "Patronus charms, that's cool. I learned how to do them last year, my dad taught me." Andi flipped around the textbook trying to locate the page. She briefly skimmed the page to refresh her memory.

Roan smiled. He had bugged Professor Lupin for ages to teach him how to do a patronus, ever since he heard that he taught it to Harry Potter a long time ago. Finally, he had relented, but Roan hadn't had too much trouble with it, even with the boggart dementor. There were just too many good memories to think about for him. He really didn't understand how people who didn't have a tragic past could find it so difficult. To him, there were so many things to pull happyness from. The smile of a friend, the feel of air on your skin, dropping something heavy onto an unsuspecting Slytherin... there was just so much. So without bothering to even look at his book, he glanced over at Andi and Jackie, then at Professor Dulcedo and he said, almost to himself, "Expecto patronum." A silver wolf erupted from the end of his wand. He grinned. Wolves were awesome. Wolves and bears were his two favorite non-magical animals.

Jackie nodded with a small smile to Andi, "Very pathetic..." she replied while flipping to page 333. She had made her patronus before, but she hadn't exactly mastered it yet. So while watching Roan's wolf, she skimmed the page. After reading it twice, Jackie was pretty sure she had it down. Last year, a silver stallion had galloped out of the tip of her wand. "Here goes nothing..." She thought back to her second year at hogwarts when she had made the Gryffindor quidditch team as seeker. That year, Gryffindor won the Cup after she had caught the snitch just before the Slytherins. It was one of her happiest and proud moments. "Expecto Patronum!" The familiar silver horse erupted from her wand with great strength and pranced in the air, looking as if it were as happy as Jackie was feeling.

"Well done you guys. Andi you next then. I know you can do it, but I still expect you to demonstrate to the class for full points today." Professor Dulcedo backed up to let the patronus's have their space.
Andi nodded and stood up to work on her patronus. Usually it was a difficult thing for her since many of her memories revolved around her life as a werewolf. She thought hard and came up with a memory of last Christmas. She had spent it with her immediate family, the Potter's, and the Weasley's. It was full of great memories and she summoned them to the front of her mind. "Expecto Patronum!" She yelled as a fierce tiger burst from her wand and tore around the room, coming to a slow stalking motion around her desk.

"Oi! Andi, you wanna duel?" Roan said challengingly. He flourished his wand, and his large wolf stepped forward, toward Andi's tiger. "Patronus verses patronus! This aughtta be fun." Roan grinned.

"Awwuh, come on. I don't want to hurt the wolf. You know wolves are my favorite animal, I couldn't do that." Andi scoffed. She couldn't stand seeing wolves harmed, even if they were just patronuses. It reminded her too much about herself and everything that she had been put through. Her tiger patronus growled menacingly, but didn't go forward.

"Ohh come on... you know I love wolves too. They are one of my favorite animals too. Come on you wuss! You just know your tiger will lose to my awesome wolf." He taunted. His wolf did a few feints toward her tiger, leaping forward to nip its ear.

The tiger, angered, lept forward and sunk it's teeth into the wolf. Andi cried out in horror and fell to the ground whimpering in fear. The tiger dissipated as her happy thoughts were replaced with worries. Her eyes glazed over as memories of long nights as a monster invaded her mind.
Professor Dulcedo, knowing full well what was going on, rushed forward and helped Andi up. She knew that Andi was in a very volatile state, and since that night was the full moon, she could easily be set off into her werewolf form. She rubbed Andi's shoulder, trying to calm her down.

Roan ran forward, his wolf disappearing in a cloud of silver dust. "Andi! You okay?" He asked with concern. Everything and more seemed to happen to his friend. He helped Professor Dulcedo help her up, and he bent down and picked up her wand, which she had dropped, and he placed it on a desk.

Andi panted, trying to force the thoughts away. The day of a full moon was always hard on her, she tried to keep things relatively nirmal, but thoughts of it could set off her transformation early. She sat there for a few moments trying to calm down, all the while listening to Professor Dulcedo's calming words.
