"No, you would. It's not something you could know and still like me." Andi sighed. Laws against werewolves were becoming more and more common lately. They were considered to still be on the dark side and restrictions were set in place left and right to limit their lives. The Ministry hated them and so did most other people.

"Andi, how many times do I need to tell you? No matter what I know about you, I'll still love you." Roan said. Suddenly Roan realized what he had said and grimaced. Now that had just slipped out. He may have meant it, but he certainly hadn't meant to tell her. Ahhh crap. What now? He risked a quick glance at her.

"No Roan. No one can, no one." Andi muttered. She was a lot like her father. She was reluctant to like anyone. She would just end up hurting them some how. Her mother had a tough life, living with two werewolves. It was a huge risk, but her mother could do anything, right? She thought her mother was infallible, well.. except her cooking.

"And here is where you wrong Andi, because I can, and I do, you understand that?" He said passionately, and then a little softer, "Okay Andi?" He lifted her chin so that they were eye to eye. "Okay?" He said even softer, striving to make Andi understand how he felt. She looked miserable, and his heart went out to her.

"You can't. I'll just end up hurting you in the end. I don't want to do that." Andi mumbled in barely a whisper. She couldn't bear hurting her friends, especially not Roan. She slid down the wall and sat on the ground, her head resting in her lap. She didn't know what to do. one way or another she'd end up hurting him.

"No Roan! I would, there's nothing you or I can do about it. I would end up hurting you one way or another." Andi fumed. Why can't he just understand? I'm a moster... I could kill him.. She hopped up and ran out of the room. She couldn't take it anymore. Where can I go that he won't find me? Hmm.. the library! She ran through the secret passages of the school, she knew them by heart, eventually stopping when she was in front of the library. She entered the library and sat down at a table near the back of the room, surrounded by books.

Roan started when Andi jumped up and ran out of the room. Oh crap... she knows the secret passages as well as I do, I could never find her. What to do? Suddenly, with a jolt, he realized what to do. He ran out of the room, heading for the Gryffindor Common room. He practically yelled the password and stepped in. He looked furtively around the room, but no one was there. He made his way to the girls dormitory, and started to climb up it. The stairs suddenly turned into a slide, and Roan sighed. He had figured out long ago how to deal with this. He jumped up and landed on the railing, and kept going. He reached Andi's room and cautiously opened the door. He leaped off the railing and landed nimbly into the room. Where was it? I know Andi has it around here somewhere. He saw a corner of parchment sticking out of Andi's dresser and he grabbed it. "Yes!" He said, punching the air. He held the Marauder's Map in front of him and scanned it. Most of the kids were in class but he only needed Andi... There! In the library. Roan groaned, but he stashed it in his pocket and slid down the stairs. He quickly made his way down to the library, and crept inside. He checked the map, and she was in the back of the library. He made his way toward the back and saw a figure sitting at a chair, illuminated in the soft light. "Andi?" He called out quietly.

Andi sighed as she glanced over at Roan. How in the hell could he have found me here? I know he'd never come here to look for me.. wait. Damnit! He has my map. He knows not to touch it.. That's mine.. Her eyes glazed over with anger. "Why do you have that?" She summoned the map with her wand and grabbed it out of the air. "You know that only I can touch it." She said a little more harshly than intended. She got up and walked past him, determined to be her usual stubborn self.

"Andi!" Roan said, putting his hand firmly on her shoulder, "You have to listen to me. I don't care about being hurt or any of that. I care about you. I'm sorry I used your map, but I needed to find you." Andi is being so stubborn! I need to get through to her. He didn't get why she wouldn't let him help her.

"There's no point in you finding me, you still can't help. Plus, you have to be careful with my map.. it means a lot to me. To know that at one time my dad actually helped with pranks. Honestly, look at him now, he wouldn't even dream of it." Andi shook her head in disappointment. She shook Roan off of her shoulder and kept on walking away.

Andi crossed her arms in annoyance. "Roan, I promise that there is nothing you can do. If there was I would let you, really." She tucked her map away in her robes carefully. "And, no you don't. Remember that time when you accidently left it sitting in the Commons and some first year came up and grabbed it to do their homework on? I was in detention for a month for what I did.."

Roan had to try to keep the grin off his face; this was still serious stuff. "Andi do just want me to not care about you? Something is going on Andi, and it's getting worse." Roan was struggling for words. "Like your dad! He had a huge problem when he was a kid, and I bet he didn't think his friends could help. But they did didn't they?" Something in the back of his mind was screaming at him, calling him an idiot, but he wasn't paying attention.

Andi stiffened as he mentioned her dad. Of course, he had gone through the same thing she was going through now. And, yes his friends did help him a lot, but it was different. They were only able to help because they were animagi. Roan wasn't one though. He couldn't withstand an attack from a werewolf if he tried. "No. It's not the same."
