Gwyneth was rather proud of herself. After successfully persuading/threating a group of first years out of the common room, she was now alone. Curled up in an armchair by the fire with her latest novel in hand, she was quite content. Probably for the first time since arriving. With her family problems, starting school, and trying to maintain some sort of friendship with Tony, she had been pushing herself without rest. Now she had time to simply sit down and relax. Of course she was also waiting for someone to break this period of serenity. She was sure those bratty first years would be back any minute, stupidly announcing that there was no such thing as a fire goblin. (Gwyneth could be quite convincing when she wanted to be.)

Milo entered the Ravenclaw common room through the portrait hole and glanced around the room. He tossed his bag on the couch and sat himself down in a chair, glad to be over with his morning classes. "Morning Gwyneth." he said, closing his eyes. His curly blond hair fell over his forehead slightly and his tanned arms folded across his chest as he heaved a sigh. "How're you these days? I haven't seen you in a while...too much work." he added.

"Fair enough, I guess I've been extremly busy also. Of course I'm in a terribly good mood at the moment so I can't really complain," She said, smiling slightly. She glanced up to exaimin him for a moment before returning her gaze to her book. "I thought I might catch up on a little reading, I really don't have much else to do."

Milo laughed lightly and shook his head. "You know you can take a break right? How about one of those muggle smoothies, ever had one? I taught one of the house elves how to make one, maybe i can get him to make us some. You need to get your poor eyes away from words." he replied, sitting up.

"A smoothie? Sounds tempting acctually," Justly said setting down her book. "I've had them once or twice before." She ran a hand over her hair, absentmindedly checking for bumps in her loose ponytail. "I guess I could use a break," she admitted. "But working and reading takes my mind off things."

Milo smiled, "Good, because I hate being alone if you haven't noticed." he replied and got to his feet. He slipped off his school robes since he didnt havae anymore classes that day and waited for her to follow him to the portrait hole. "Reading helps me relax too, I could read all day. By the end of my seven years, I want to read more that 85% of all the books in the library...and I'm almost there."

Justly laughed, "Well that beats my studying winged creatures in Romania goal." She stood up, stretching out her cramped limbs. "Hmm, it was nice to have the common room free of annoying chatterbugs. I hope they don't ask any of the teachers about the fire goblin in the hearth... I might use that excuse again for studying time," she mused following him out into the hallways.

Milo raised an eyebrow in her direction, "Hmm, studying creatures in Romania, that sounds exciting." he said earnestly. At her last comment, he laughed. "First years are always so gullible.." They walked down the corridors and eventually ended up at the kitchen. "Any preferences to your flavor of smoothie?"

"Its better than nothing I suppose. The way things are going though... I don't think its going to happen for a long time," She said laughing gently. She paused, leaning against the wall with her hands behind her back. She looked thoughtful for a moment. "Strawberry," She decided.

Milo nodded and slipped into the backdoor of the kitchen, hoping the House Elves wouldn't mind. After finding the friendly elf he had met before, Milo asked for the two strawberry smoothies and the elf eagerly nodded his head and prepared them. It only took a minute or so, and after they were done, he brought them back out to Gwyneth. "Here you go." he said with a smile, handing her the smoothie. While he sipped on it, he asked, "So whats holding you up in the studying creatures plan?"

"Thanks," Gwyneth said taking the offered drink. She took a few small sips before biting the inside of her cheek. After a moment she gave a off handed sort of shrug. "Oh, you know... The usual. Money problems mostly. But who doesn't have those, right?" She took another sip of her smoothie and sighed.

Milo nodded, though he had to admit he didn't know the feeling. His family was rather well off, and he hated the fact that he took advantage of that. "Thats depressing..." he said, trying to think of some solutions, but none came up right away. They walked back down the corridor in the direction they came, and Milo slipped a hand in his pocket while the other held his chilled fruit drink.

"Its the least of my worries really," Gwyneth admitted, giving him a small smile. She stared down at her glass as they walked and was quiet for a little while. "But hey, it could be worse, right? A good education, a nice home, its all better than nothing. So," She said, changing the subject since this one was prbably making the both of them uneasy, "Do you have any other goals?"

Milo grinned, "Oh I have plenty of goals. I want to be a wand maker one day, own a Hippogriff, write textbooks that future students will study on the magic and history of wands- an updated version." he replied. The list could go on; Milo wanted to make sure his life would never have a dull moment, so he always had to be thinking ahead and planning. He wanted to study and work alot, along with travel and experience all he could. "What about you?"

"Well... I want to write a book too. Don't know what about, though I do have a few drafts of a few things I'm intrested in. Just brainstorms. I've also wanted a pheonix. And, if the study winged creatures plan doesn't work out, I've also had my eye on becoming the secratary for the Minister of Magic," She said, smiling in amuesment at her somewhat random goals. After a moment's thought she added, "And killing my French cousin might also be up there on my goals list."
