The Hogwarts Express: going to school

[Justly]

"Intresting?"Gwyneth asked,her tone suddenly withdrawn."Well,not really."
She fiddled with the pages of her book before looking out the window at the passing landscape."Well,my mom opened a muggle bookstore this summer acctually."She said with an indiffrent shrug.

Milo nodded. "Muggle bookstore....that can be interesting." he replied. Out of randomness, he made a paper bird and with his wand, made it fly around the compartment. It wasn't anything new; Milo liked to make things when he was bored and fly them around. The muggle helicopter was his specialty. "I didn't do anything real interesting either. I went to a quidditch match, which was spectacular, but other than that, I just hung around."

"Yea...Who did you go watch?"She asked,glad to change the subject.She twisted her brown hair around her finger before shoving it over her shoulder and watching the paper bird for a moment while waiting for his awnser.
Kit,her owl,had taken some intrest in what she was sharing airspace with and had opened one brown eye to watch the paper bird aswell.

Milo pointed his wand to the owl and the paper bird began to swerve around its head. "Puddlemere and Chudley Cannons. It was a good game. Puddlemere won, of course." he said with a smile. Puddlemere was his favorite team, and he went to almost every match.

Laryn sprinted up so that she was side by side with Tony. "Hmm.... I think I'll get some chocolate frogs and a pack of Every Flavor Beans. What are you going to-- Is that Andi?" She had been absentmindedly been looking through the compartment windows and one in particular caught her eye. A bunch of Gryffindors, including Andi and some very confused younger students were inside and Andi didn't look... stable.

Brett was starting to get angry about Cygnus' unchanging mood. She stood up, leaning one hand against the window and looking down at him. "No! You come off it! You can't let that bloody family of yours control your life! You're a different person Cygnus. A better person than your sister, and you should be proud of that."

She drummed her fingers on the window, biting the inside of her lip. It was a habit of hers when she was upset.

[Justly]

"Uh,yeah.Eh,thats odd.She seems...Off.Should we check up on her?"Tony said frowning as he peered over LAryn's shoulder."Maybe we should.Doesn't seem like we should let the prefects or teachers catch her like that.Especially her dad."He said looking around at that thought.

"I'm not suprised, I've always thought Puddlemere was far better.Of course I've never been one to follow the professionals."She mused as she watched Kit.
Her owl was either confused or agitated as it watched carefully the paper invader,both eyes opened wearily.After a moment of careful thought she closed her eyes once more,deciding she had seen enough.With a click of her beak she buried her head beneath a wing.

Laryn nodded and tried to open the door. "Heh, they locked it. That proves it, there's definitely something going on." She put her face up against the window again and knocked. "You don't see her dad around anywhere do you?" She asked Tony while waiting for someone inside to let them in.

"I'm basically obsessed with quidditch, so I keep up with the pros as best as I can." he said, watching as the little bird vanish in a cloud of smoke.

Jackie was pretty much doing a good job of distracting Professor Lupin, but as the questions soon left her lips, it was hard to keep him from moving further down the hall, towards Andi.She put her hands out and they made him stop walking again. "Wait! Professor, can you please show me how to perfect my patronus now? I want to know it, because I promised myself I would learn it before school started." she said, making up anything as long as it stalled him a little longer. Of course she knew how to make her patronus, and she did it well, but at least it was in his field of study.
Jackie turned her head around a moment and saw that they were closer to Andi's compartment than she would have liked. She saw a familiar face and recognized it to be Laryn. With her hand behind her back, she flicked her wand and a peice of paper shot out with words scribbled on it: Lupin's coming! Do something with Andi. A spell? Move her? Just do something quick....

[Justly]

Tony dug around franticly for his wand,racking his brain for some sort of spell to cover up this...Problem."Uh,Yeah,Yeah,I see him."He mumbled to Laryn.

"I've noticed.Do you play any particular position?"She asked curiously.Her own thoughts drifted to try outs they were sure to have this year.She was going to make beater this year,she knew it.

"Yeah, chaser. What about you, do you play?" he asked, leaning against the wall of the compartment to face her. He held out his palm and his wand produced a paper quaffle and paper goal posts. As he listened to Gwyneth, he shot the quaffles into the hoops, twirling his wand to guide them.

Laryn felt the note hit her arm while she was pulling out her own wand and looked past Tony at Jackie and Remus. "Oh boy..." She picked up the note, read it quickly, just in case it had some plan written on it, and shoved it in her bag. She bit her lip in thought, and came up with a plan. "Ok, I got it. Go check that compartment across the hall, we'll have Lupin check in there while they sneak Andi out from this one."

She whispered Alohomora and the lock on Andi's compartment clicked open. "Lupin's just down the hall, when we get him in the compartment across here do a muffliato so he doesn't hear you taking Andi down to a compartment he's already been in." she said this all in one breath, hoping they would listen. She was about to leave the compartment when she turned around at the last minute, "and what the hell were you thinking anyway? Drinks on the train..."

Cygnus was on his feet instantly. "Don't you say a word about my sister!" She may not have any love for him, but Cygnus still loved her something fierce. After all, she was their mother's double, and they only reallyhad each other. Narcissa and Lucius weren't their parents, and he did not call his uncle family. "She may not be all roses and daisies but she's all I've got! She is the last piece of real family I have! Well you know what Brett, just bugger off!" He grabbed for his owl and made for the compartment door. He still had faith in his family. Maybe they didn't have much faith in him, but he thought that maybe one day they could be proud of him for something.

Brett straightened out her hair with an agitated hand. "Cygnus!" Maybe her large family made it impossible for her to understand why he tried to get a connection with his sister. Brett wouldn't mind at all if her family stopped trying to butt into her life so much. She didn't care a bit about making them proud of her. That was her sisters' and older brother's jobs.

"Cygnus I'm not letting you leave." She stood in front of the door with her arms crossed as he was reaching for his owl. "I'm sorry for what I said to your sister, and I'll admit that maybe I even deserved a little of what she did..." She rubbed her neck as she said this, "But I'm not sorry for what I just said. You are better Cygnus, and that's nothing to be ashamed of. You don't need to prove anything to her, why don't you understand that?"

He sat back down. "At least you have a family," he muttered. He didn't care what people said. They should respect what God gave them. Cygnus had learned all too quickly how fast all of that could be yanked out from under him. "You need to appreciate them more than I know you do," his voice was very sincere.

Brett scooted into the seat next to Cydney and laid her head on the wall of the compartment, looking back at Cygnus. "Yeah, maybe. You can come share them if you want." A small smile crept back on her face, a twisted little twinkle in her eye. "The twins already have a crush on you, they'll love the idea."
