Paige bent over her cauldron, peering into the liquidy substance inside. "Is it suppose to be green?" She mumbled, to no one imparticular. The closest person was Andi Lupin, and Paige lifted her eyes to her with a look of 'help' swimming in the crystal blue circles. As she watched Andi over her own cauldron, she realized that they never got around to knowing each other even though they were in the same house and same year. Odd wasn't it? I guess Paige got wrapped up in other people and homework too much.
On the other side of her, a little to the left, was Tony Boot. Her brain got to wondering again, but this time she was puzzled by why the younger Gryffindor would be in this same class with her. Before she had time to glance at the desk he was near, to see if he was just dropping in to tell the Professor something or if he was really a classmate, there was a popping noise coming from Paige's cauldron. She looked into it and green liquid bubbled up, a droplet catching her face. "Ahh, gross..."

Andi looked over at Paige's mixture with an expression of pity on her face. Potions wasn't Andi's best subject by far, but she could usually get a decent mixture together by the end of class. "Er, Paige you might just want to zap that stuff away and start over.. I could help you if you want. This lesson isn't too bad." Andi got out her wand and cleaned up most of the mess, leaving what was in the cauldron to Paige.
Andi didn't really know Paige, but she was always willing to help a fellow Gryffindor. Andi's thoughts led to why her and Paige didn't talk. They were in the same year and had most of the same classes after all. Maybe it's because I'm always so busy with Quidditch and.. my other problems. Andi left her thoughts and went back to helping Paige. "Potions is definately not your best subject huh?" Andi asked with a giggle. She knew how Paige felt. Andi was absolutely lost most of the time in her Divination and Astronomy classes. She just couldn't seem to read a telescope or a tea leaf to save her life. And of course, the ever torturous History of Magic but a damper on her usually cheerful mood.

Paige smiled gratefully. "Um, yeah. Definately not my strongest subject." she replied with a chuckle. She zapped the green goo away and began from the beginning again. "Thanks for helping. I'll try and get it...blue." she said after taking a peek into Andi's potion. "Bue, green. I wasn't too far off." Paige relaxed a little and laughed, but not too much to draw attention to themselves and get in trouble. "I'm horrible at potions. I mean, it seems like you just read off of a paper and just do what it says but I don't know what's wrong with me. It just doesn't work out."

"Nah, a lot of people have trouble with potions. It can get pretty difficult. I mess up a lot because I tend to forget to pay attention. It's one of those subjects where you have to pay strict attention." Andi chuckled. Her mind wandered to last year when her and Roan had accidentally forgotten to finish their potion and it exploded all over the classroom causing everyone to have tiny purple bumps all over their skin. Madame Pomfrey was so angry with them after that. "Besides, who's actually going to use Potions in their life?"

"Strict attention? Oh, now I see why I am doing horribly." Paige half-joked, stirring her newly made liquid in a counter-clockwise direction seven times. She looked back to Andy and shrugged. "I know I'm not going to use it. If I need a potion I'll go buy it or something. Anything's better than taking a stressful couple hours out of my life." She added three hairs of a whatch-ya-ma-call-it and waited until the substance started to sizzle. It luckily turned the shade of blue it needed to be. "Thats better..." she whispered to herself.

"Exactly. Potions is honestly a waste of my time. I'll be out of it as soon as possible." Andi nodded in agreement. Andi didn't mind potions too much, but she wasn't fond of the attention that it took. She liked to let her mind wander to better things, rather than the complicated potions directions. Andi looked over at Paige's potion as it slowly turned to a blue shade. "See, it's not way too hard. Just.. dull. Sometimes it just takes a few tries. Just use the excuse that your newt eyes were rotten. Works every time." Andi chuckled. Sometimes the professor would get irritated when she mesed up her potion, so she used that excuse to get out of it.

"Yeah, I'll have to remember that one for next time. Seems like the Professor didn't notice my screw up though." she replied, looking up to the front of the classroom. She was talking to Tony Boot who I guess did end up being a messenger after all. She'd talked to him a couple times and found him kinda funny. "So..You play quidditch right? How's it looking for Gryffindor? Are we going to win this year?"

"Yeah, good thing Tony was around to distract her." Andi nodded. The professor really wasn't that observant in the first place, unless she was in a bad mood. Then she was just looking for a reason to dock points and give detentions. "Yeah, course I play. I am the team's captain after all. We're looking pretty solid so far. We were out training all day yesterday. It was rough, but I needed it. Quidditch always makes me feel better. Do you play at all?" Andi hadn't ever seen her play, but a lot of people that weren't on teams were quite good at Quidditch.

"Ah, yes professor," Tony muttered, shifting from one foot to the other. His eyes diverted towards the ground. He wasn't really paying attention to what the teacher was telling him. He was too busy thinking anyway, he had just offered to run the message to escape the lecture 'The Gift'. Honestly, who could stand Professor McMoon anyway? He was fairly sure he was developing an allergy to incense. "Are you paying attention to me?" The teacher asked suddenly. "Ah, yeah. I mean, yes, professor. I'm supposed to tell Professor McMoon that her current prophecy is probably incorrect since you don't have a sister and that she shouldn't interuppt your class to tell you about it..." "Very well, get back to class, Mr. Boot." Tony hated his last name, it was purely idiotic. He nodded turning around to shuffle towards the door.

Paige thought back to some of her favorite memories of her and her brother playing quidditch in their rather large backyard. Her brother, Drake Simmons, was a great player and would probably go pro someday. "I play with my brother, Drake. He plays for Hufflepuff. But I never tried out for the team because...well I don't know. Never got around to it..." she replied, mumbling the last part. Of course she wanted to try out, but her brother and her were very close and quidditch was his big thing; his life revolved around it. Paige had this crazy idea that if she played quidditch too, she'd be taking something away from him. Especially since her dad seems to favor her anyways. Their father really only had one thing in common with his son, and that was quidditch. So, Paige thought if she took it up too, Drake wouldn't get the alone time in the backyard practicing with his dad- his only alone time with the father figure of the family. "But I'm glad to hear your captain and the teams doing well. That's great!" she said with a smile. As Tony walked by, she gave him a wave.

"If you're any good, you should try out. We're always looking to improve our team of course. Tryouts are coming up soon anyways. I could practice with you if you'd like." Andi offered. She'd seen Drake play, and he was damn good. If Paige was half as good as him, than she would definately be welcomed onto the team. Plus, she got along well enough with Paige, and friendship with your team members is always a necessity in Quidditch. Andi didn't see Quidditch as just a mess of people flying about like most people did. Andi saw her team as a coordinated body, moving as one with the ball and if your hand was unfriendly with your arm, the perfect moving body would have problems. "Yeah, the older members left and I was given the captaincy. It's pretty cool, I just hope I can do well. I know that Alex is going to be working the Hufflepuff team into the ground, and I hope to do the same." Andi gave Tony a quick wave goodbye as he left the room, even though she didn't know him very well.

Tony, being the wonderfully dorky boy that he was, waved back with a blush. Which resulted in, as it most always did, him tripping over his own foot and falling face first onto the hard stone floor of the potions class room. He had been tripping alot lately... Faintly, he could hear the teacher's exasperated sighing from the front of thr classroom. For a minute or two, Tony refrained from picking himself up and remained face down on the floor, too embaressed to move. It was usually alot better to fall in a less crowded area, but he hadn't acctually tripped in a classroom full of older students before. He let out a faint groan, wishing that he would suddenly disappear into the ground.

Andi hopped out of her chair, nearly knocking over her cauldron, to help Tony up. She grabbed his arms and helped lift him to his feet, stifling a giggle the entire time. She knew Tony had a habit of tripping over his own two feet, especially around girls. Andi felt bad for the kid, as she knew exactly how he felt. She'd inherited her mother's tendancy to be a totaly klutz. "You alright Tony? Need to go to the Hospital Wing? Any broken bones? Or is it just me that breaks thing every time I fall?" Andi chuckled. She often fell down flights of the moving stairs, breaking her arm and sometimes her leg. Madame Pomfrey knew her quite well.

"I-uh... I'm fine," He mumbled, rubbing his cheek wearily. "I'm starting to adapt to it, by now. Though I'm fairly sure my nose will be crooked for the rest of my life. Thanks, for helping me up..." He took a moment to identify his rescuer. Andi Lupin, the captain of his House's qudditch team and, if his roommates were to be believed, Roan's bestfriend and new girlfriend. "I'd better get back to..." Wait... What class was he in?

"I could teach you a little trick to keep your nose straight later in the commons if you'd like. Though, I never do need it." Andi laughed as she changed her nose to look like a pig's snout. She quickly changed it back though, as some of the other kids in the classroom looked a bit stunned. "Being a metamorphmagus has it's benefits I suppose. And, it's no problem. I fall all the time, the least I can do is help my fellow clumsy friends." Andi smiled at Tony with a look of amusement on her face. "Divination right?"
