Sitting Alone

[Andi Lupin]

"Can you not see what's really going on? He's just using you and I don't want you to get hurt." Starla mumbled. She hated what was happening. Well, she mostly just hated Derrek. She didn't want Ophelia to get hurt and that's all he had in mind. "I can't really convince you, you'd just have to trust me.."

[Ophelia Rose]

Ophelia sighed. "I think I might be able to change him though." She said. Ophelia really could have an effect on people. She didn't know if he could change Derrek though. She was still gonna try. Addy was really excited. She ran onto the dock, almost falling off when she got to the end. Instead she fell on her back.

[Andi Lupin]

Starla sighed. She didn't think Derrek could change, even if he wanted to. "It's a lost cause dearie. Just leave it.." Starla gave her a last look before rushing forward to help Addy. "You alright hun? Anything hurt?" She looked over Addy making sure nothing was too badly scraped.

[Ophelia Rose]

"No, I'm fine." Addy said. Ophelia sat on the end of the dock. She was really sad, she wanted to make him change. All Ophelia wanted was to be Derrek's friend. Maybe a little more than that. Maybe way more. Yeah, WAYYY more. Addy looked at Starla. Then looked down at the water. "I'm gunna get in." Addy said. She was still petrified and probably wouldn't do too well. She was still gunna try.

((cue Derrek.))

[Andi Lupin]

Derrek was laying in the tree near the dock watching them. "You guys need any help down there?" He called out from above. His plan this time around was to play the nice guy role. He'd get to the kids heart, and hpefully in turn Ophelia. He swung his legs off the side of the tree and sat there, a warm smile on his face.

Starla cursed as she heard Derrek's voice. She was convinced that he was bad, even if he was offering to help. She certainly didn't want him anywhere near his sister. "Come on Addy, let's go get in near the edge where it's shallower."

[Ophelia Rose]

Ophelia smiled. "Hi." She said sweetly. "Can you help me learn how to swim?" Addy asked Derrek. Addy thought Derrek was nice. She didn't know. Ophelia was hoping Derrek would change. She didn't want Starla to be mad at her. She couldn't help liking him. Ophelia took off her shoes and put her feet in the water.

"Anything for Ophelia's little friend. What shall we do first?" Derrek asked, winking at Ophelia in the process. He stripped down to his swim trunks, which were already on just in case, and waded out into the water. "You ready to learn from the master?"

Starla held back her thoughts from escaping her mouth. She could deal with having Derrek here, as long as he wasn't off.. womanizing. "I guess I'l stay back here." She mumbled to Addy and Ophelia. Starla took up a spot near the tree, her wand in hand.

[Ophelia Rose]

Addy smiled and got in the water. "I dunno. I just wanna learn how to swim." Addy said. Ophelia smiled and got in the water, swimming behind Derrek. She covered his eyes with her hands and said "Guess who." It really wasn't hard to guess who it was. Starla wouldn't do that. Addy looked at her sister. "Come on Star. Get in." She said.

[Andi Lupin]

Starla shook her head, "No thanks. You guys have fun, I have.. homework." Starla picked the first word that came to mind. To keep up the illusion, she summoned paper, ink and a quill with her wand. "Don't let her drown Ophelia!"

Derrek feigned dumb. "I don't know. Who could this be? Starla perhaps? No. Definately not. Can't be Addy, she's right here. Must be Ophelia!" Derrek grabbed her hands and held them in front of him. "Shall we teach her to swim than?"

[Ophelia Rose]

"Come on Star." Addy and Ophelia said simutaneously. "Okay." Ophelia said. She wanted to give him a hug but didn't. God she loved him. Addy was only in the water up to her knees. She was terrified. "I don't know if I can do this." she said.

[Andi Lupin]

"Sorry guys. I'm not coming in." Starla called out. She wasn;t going to be anywhere near the water while /he/ was there. Not even close. "I really do have a lot of homework to handle." Starla started scribbling on her paper, writing random words on the paper. Everything she wrote led back to Aiden.

Derrek smiled over at Addy. "Come on, I won't let go until you tell me to. It'll be fine." Derrek took hold of Addy in the middle of her stomach, and flipped her so she was floating on the water. "Okay, first you need to learn to kick. Just kick your feet back and forth."

[Ophelia Rose]

Addy started screaming. "Let me go." She yelled. "I can't do this." Ophelia got out of the lake and walked over to Starla. "Please. Addy might be better if you get in." She said grabbing Starla's wrist, trying to pull her up.

Derrek righted Addy so she was standing again. "Sorry, I'll take it slower than." He mumbled. Lord.. this is so not worth it. This little kid just needs to get over it.. Derrek smiled at her, trying to make her more comfortable.

Starla glared up at Ophelia. "Fine, but only because Addy needs me there. Otherwise I wouldn't be anywhere near him." Starla waded into the water and stood near Addy. "You'll be fine Addy."

[Ophelia Rose]

Addy reached for her sister when she got in. "Starla, I'm scared." Addy said. Ophelia swam over to Derrek. "What's with the sudden change?" She asked him. She now knew he was trying to get to her but she didn't care. She thought he actually liked her. Big mistake.

[Andi Lupin]

"I know dear. You don't have to do this today. We can try again another day if you want." Starla hugged her little sister close. She was worried that Addy might get too attatched to the idea of Derrek being around. If Starla could help it, he wouldn't be.

Derrek stepped back towards Ophelia. "Well, I feel bad about what happened earlier. I didn't know that she was so afraid of water, or that she didn't know how to swim. So, I'm trying to make up for it. Plus, I get to spend more time around you." Derrek smiled his best smile, hoping it was convincing enough.
