Sitting Alone

[Ophelia Rose]

"Uh, the thestrals." She said, sitting down on the ground next to a tree. She felt really stupid. She knew he thought she was weird, she was okay with that, everyone thought she was a bit odd. "Well, she's with Derrek, she's probably going to end up killing our eardrums soon." Addy laughed. She walked into the Ravenclaw common room, sitting on the couch.

[Andi Lupin]

"Oh, I guess that makes sense. I can't see them, which I guess is a good thing." He mumbled. Of course, the thestrals. Who doesn't talk to the thestrals before bed? Then we tuck them into bed and sing them a lullaby.

Starla nodded and smiled. "Yeah, I guess she'll be okay.. He probably went to his commons anyway." Starla didn't like the idea of Ophelia being alone with Derrek. Lost in thought, she sat down next to Addy.

"They're flying horse like things." Ophelia explained. "And you can only see them if you've seen...death." Ophelia hated to think about why she could see the thestrals. She pictured that night, when her father died. Suddenly She started crying. She did this whenever she thought of that day. She was crying pretty loud and the Ravenclaw common room window was open. Addy was using a spell, a spell so she could hear any noise within miles. "Something's wrong." Addy said, sounding worried.

Derrek nodded, he knew some about the thestrals. They were always an interesting subject to learn about. He grimaced, he probably shouldn't have walked in on such a touchy subject. Duh, obviously this was hard for Ophelia. "I.. sorry I'm here. I probably should have just left.." He mumbled, unsure if he should be any closer to her after all that had happened.


Starla looked up at Addy, noticing the wand at her ear. Of course, Addy was always watching out for people, or just spying. "Shall we go down and take a look? Is it that bad?" She asked, not really ready to get back up.

[Ophelia Rose]

"No, you can stay, I'll be fine." Ophelia said after a while. She wasn't going to be okay for a while though. It always took her a while after thinking about her dad. Addy was already dragging Starla with her by the time she had said what she said, "There's something wrong with her, we're going to help." She said.

Derrek nodded and sat down near her. He didn't say anything, because he honestly didn't know what to say. Crying girls weren't his strong point, he usually made them cry.

Starla took off after Addy, swiftly moving through the castle. "What do you think is going on? Did she say anything?" Starla asked as they got to the Entrance Hall. She wanted to be ready for anything that came her way, so her hand was curled around her wand.

[Ophelia Rose]

Ophelia put her face in her hands. Addy ran over to Ophelia and Derrek. She saw Ophelia crying and Derrek sitting next to her. "What did you do to her?" Addy asked threateningly. Addy didn't like to let anything bad happen to her friends or her sisters friends. Addy pulled her wand out of her pocket and pointed it at Derrek.

Derrek hopped up and pulled out his wand in defense. "I didn't do anything, I swear. You can ask Ophelia if you don't believe me." He called out to Addy, backing away slowly. No way was he in the mood to get cursed by the kid again.

Starla stood behind Addy, holding her back a bit. Addy had a tenancy to get violent and this didn't seem like the time. She tried to take in the scene, but nothing came to mind. Maybe it was the thestrals.

Ophelia looked up. "He didn't do anything." She said. Addy looked at Ophelia. "If he didn't do anything whats wrong?"Addy asked. Ophelia was still thinking about her dad. "I was telling Derrek about the thestrals and then I started thinking about my dad." Addy looked confused. "Your dad made you cry? Do you miss him? Just write to him." Addy suggested. She had no idea that Ophelia's father had died and Ophelia had started crying harder. She needed comfort. No one was giving it to her though.
