Sitting Alone

[Ophelia Rose]

Ophelia smiled and hugged Derrek. She hoped he was okay with that. "Starla thinks you're awful. I don't know why, You're a nice guy." Ophelia went under water and swam farther out. She hoped he'd follow her.
"I want to learn today. Will you help me? Please. Derrek too." Addy said. Addy thought he was a good guy. Addy didn't know about anything bad. She was totally innocent.

"I know she doesn't like me. We had our.. moment. I'm sure she'll come around when she gets used to the idea we're going to be around a lot." Derrek shrugged. "I'll be out there soon Ophelia. Gotta help Addy real fast." Derrek called out as Ophelia surfaced.

"Of course I'll help. And, I guess Derrek is willing to help as well." Starla looked at him warily, trying to judge what he was playing at. "How are we going to do this than?"

[Ophelia Rose]

Ophelia smiled and went under water, trying to get to the bottom. It was about fifty feet to the bottom. She was missing for at least twenty minutes. She had gotten tangled up in some plant and couldn't get untangled. She was just about unconscious.

Addy looked at where Ophelia had disappeared. "Where's Ophelia?" She asked. "She's been gone for a while." Addy knew that Derrek would go try to find her. Addy liked being a miniature matchmaker

Derrek looked about for Ophelia. but couldn't find her. "Maybe somthing happened, I saw her swim down there." Derrek didn't think anything could have happened, but he dove down under the water anyway. He saw Ophelia floating near the bottom, trapped. He quickly blasted the plant apart wiht the flick of his wand and grabbed ahold of her. He pushed off from the bottom and saw quickly to the top. "Shit.. Is she going to be alright?" He asked as he got near Starla and Addy.

"Oh god." Starla murmured as her friend surfaced. She wasn't sure what happened, but Derrek must have been behind it. "Let go of her!" She calmly told him. She took Ophelia, using magic to keep her up. "Well, I guess it's time to head back to the Hospital Wing."

Ophelia woke up when Starla said hospital and screamed. She was terrified of hospitals. She still wasn't very awake but was awake enough to know what was going on."I'm not going." She said, struggling to get away from Starla, Falling on Derrek.
Addy looked at Ophelia when she started kicking and screaming "Is she crazy?" She asked Derrek and Starla.

Derrek took hold of Ophelia, wrapping his arms around her. "It's okay, you don't have to go. It's okay." He kept repeating, hoping to calm her down. Seriously, is she a nutcase? She needs to be checked out... and not just by me.

Starla looked nervously at Ophelia. What could she have against the hospital wing? "Ophelia, you need to get looked at. Just in case... It'll be fine. Let's go." Oh Starla, ever the sensible one.

[Ophelia Rose]

"No!" Ophelia screamed. "I'm not going." There was a reason that she was afraid, she wasn't going to tell them though. It was because of her little brother. Her little brother died in the hospital wing, because of some medicine that he was given. It scared her. After that she was never going to the hospital wing again. They seemed to give you medicine for everything. Ophelia tried to get away from Derrek's hug and swim away but she ended up kicking him. She got away though, swimming as far as she could, hoping no one would follow her.

Starla watched her go, not making a move to go after her. "Nothing's going to get her there. Let her go.." She mumbled. She hoped that Ophelia would come to her senses and come back before something worse happened.

Derrek on the other hand, wasn't letting her go. He hopped back into the water following Ophelia. "Ophelia, come on back. You can stay out here, just come back in to shore." He called out, carefully staying a few feet away in case it set her off again.

Ophelia stopped. "Why should I?" She asked "All you're going to do is make me go to the hospital wing, I'm not going." Ophelia didn't want to make Derrek mad, she didn't want him to hate her or think she's crazy. She has perfectly good(lame!) reasons.

Addy looked at her sister "Aren't you going to do something?" She asked "I thought you were her friend, she needs you." Addalee might not know much about bad things but she can tell when people are distressed.

"I won't make you go anywhere you don't want to go. I promise." Derrek called out to her. He looked into her eyes, his bright blue ones contrasting the black water around him perfectly. They shimmered when the light hit them. He just hoped they were alluring enough.

"I don't think it's a good idea to go after her. She's scared and the more people around her, the worse it will be. She'll feel threatened." Starla prattled on. She'd read a few books on psychology over the summer. "I think Derrek can handle it, but if not I'll go out when he comes back."

[Ophelia Rose]

Ophelia smiled when she looked into his eyes. She didn't believe him, she could tell that he thought she was nuts. "Don't lie Derrek, it's not good for you." She told him. She swam over to him. 'Why do his eyes have to be so gorgeous.' She thought. It was kind of obvious what she was thinking. "Okay." Addie said. "Why don't you like him?" She asked. She could tell that she absolutely hated him.

Derrek laughed. That's not what he was lying about, he couldn't care less if she made it to the Hospital Wing or not. It was a lie that he cared about her though. "Who said I was lying? /I/ won't take you anywhere." Derrek took her hand, starting to swim back to shore.

Starla sighed, not having the best of answers. "He's fake. He doesn't care.. he's just a pig." Starla tried to use less vulgar language around her sister, but she certainly had a few choice words to describe the boy. "What do you see in him Addy?"

Addy looked at her sister, "I think he's nice. He's never done anything to me." She said. Ophelia was getting a bit suspicous. She pulled away from Derrek "Who are you trying to fool?" She asked. Knowing the answer would be 'You, Ophelia.'. "You don't really care about me." Ophelia was dissapointed in him, she finally believed Starla.

Derrek shrugged. "You honestly thought I did? Should have listened to your little friend." Derrek sneered at her, and swam back to shore. "Your turn." He mumbled to Starla as he stalked off, headed back to the commons.

Starla sighed, knowing Ophelia would be crushed. At least she finally knew.. She hopped into the water, swimming out towards Ophelia. "You okay?" She asked awkwardly. She wasn't about to jab at Ophelia by saying that she should have known all along.

Ophelia was shocked. She knew that he didn't like her. She had just hoped that Derrek would at least care. Ophelia swam over to the dock, pulling herself up. She sat on the end of the dock crying. "If I didn't say anything he wouldn't have left." She said. She wanted to kill Derrek for being such a jerk but she still absolutely loved him. Addy stomped over in front of Derrek. "What is your problem?" She yelled, hands on her hips. She took out her wand "Levicorpus" She yelled, flicking her wand. Now Derrek was being lifted up into the air. Addy is an extremely powerful witch.
